Littlest wanted a balance beam in a big way. They cost hundreds of dollars! You can buy a mat to practice on, but its just not as much fun as wobbling your way along a narrow board.
Voila! The 15 minute home balance beam. It's not high off the ground, however nor is it padded or super-safe. It's just a simple homemade toy - no guarantees for your child's safety if you copy this!
Kevin ran out and picked up an 8 foot long 4x4. I think they are used for fencing. It costs under $10. He sawed two equal "feet" out of scrap wood. He & Danielle nailed them on. A few minutes later she was dancing her way along her own balance beam that she helped build herself.
